  1. Vince Cable
. Credited as the only politician to warn of the dangerously high levels of personal debt and economic fragility, Vince is often referred to as the “most trusted politician”. He is the Lib Dem’s economic “Tzar”. Well known, liked and respected.

  2. Lower fairer taxes. Lib Dems promise: No income tax if you earn less than £10,000 a year; £700 tax cut for workers; £100 tax cut for pensioners. (All paid for by closing tax loopholes exploited by the very rich, taxes on pollution and the new ‘mansion tax’ on houses over £2million.)

  3. 6 of the UK’s top 10 sustainable cities are run by the Lib Dems. [2009 Sustainable Cities Index.]

  4. Lib Dems would provide a chance for every young person in Britain to get into work - 800,000 new paid training opportunities, 25,000 new paid apprenticeships and 60,000 extra university and college places.

  5. The Lib Dems have a six year plan to phase out tuition fees saving University students £10,000 each.

  6. Lib Dems would introduce a “universal care guarantee” - care payments for the elderly to ensure everyone in need gets an adequate level of support.

  7. We will scrap NHS targets and introduce a Patient’s Bill of Rights, we will make sure that you can get your treatment on time or the NHS will pay for you to go private.

  8. Only the Liberal Democrats have a fully-costed plan to invest in sustainable public transport and deliver a low carbon transport system by 2050.

  9. Lib Dems pledge that at least 20% of energy and 40% of electricity will come from renewable sources by 2020 rising to 100% by 2050. To do this we will bring in new incentives to speed up the growth of renewable energy and micro-generation using guaranteed minimum prices. We will also promote the use of renewable heat.

  10. More and more people are choosing the Lib Dems – we are the only party to receive more votes and more seats in the last three General Elections.
