Daisy calls on Suffolk residents to join "Save Suffolk Services" campaign

Daisy has joined the “Save Suffolk Services” campaign and is calling on Suffolk residents to sign the online petition.


Daisy said “I am shocked that all Suffolk County Council services, including child protection, will be outsourced if plans go ahead. I’m deeply concerned that the Suffolk County Council proposals will cause irreversible damage to our communities and disproportionately affect the poorest, the most vulnerable, and those living in rural areas.

“We have seen no business case to justify the claims that the County can make 30% savings by ‘divesting’ many of its services. In fact, when you factor in redundancy costs, we fear it could cost more.”


“The County has decided to close the Ipswich Park and Ride’s Bury Road site (near Asda), in spite of increasing passenger numbers and the council’s 16 care homes are also under threat.


“As the official opposition at County level, local Liberal Democrats will continue to fight for cost-effective council services and fight against unnecessary and uncosted plans.


“I am happy to sign the petition which calls on any County Councillor who feels unwilling or unable to supervise the provision of council-run services as cost-effectively as possible - the job they were elected to do – to resign.”
