About Daisy
Daisy was born and raised in Suffolk, and has family in Woodbridge, Horham and Southwold. She is an active member of the Liberal Democrat party: from delivering leaflets and talking to people on the doorstep, to being a member of the party’s policy group on International Development.
Daisy is committed to furthering liberal values through the work that she does. She currently works as the Senior Strategic Planner at the Commonwealth Secretariat – a voluntary association of 53 members committed to strengthening democracy and human rights, and promoting sustainable development.
Daisy prides herself on her ability to deliver results. In recent years, she has successfully spearheaded major change management processes in a bureaucracy; she has headed a think-tank; and she is one of the country’s youngest Directors and Trustees of a charity. Daisy has delivered a speech at the United Nations; has persuaded MPs in different countries to ask questions in parliament; and has raised nearly £350,000 for various projects including a scholarship scheme for young people who would never normally get such a chance. She has put together a whole new team for election to a staff association and eight out of the eleven were successfully elected. Daisy also enjoys working with a variety of counterparts, and has worked with Nobel laureates and volunteers, Ministers and young people.
She holds an LLM in Public International Law from Nottingham University, an LLB Hons in Law from Leeds University, a Foundation Certificate in Psychotherapy and Counselling and is also an SPC Accredited Mediator. Daisy plays the piano and violin. She also enjoys live music, ballet, reading philosophy, and walking along the beautiful beaches of Suffolk.
